I decided since I'm still working out the bugs in my herms system I should have another 2 batch brew day, and I'm kind of glad I did.
Ok not too many things went wrong this brew day, except a minor issue with the second batch where I only ran off 12 Gallons, preboil, instead of the usual 13 Gallons. I can't even blame it on too many glasses of homebrew, as I had only one at that point. The testing this brew day would focus on the mash tun temperature, as in the last test. I would see if I could increase the flow of the recirculation and determine what HLT temperature setting I would need to maintain my desired temp.

Well the time finally came to test out the herms while actually making a batch of beer. This would be a two beer day the first being an IPA with a 24LB grain bill or an 11gal batch. I setup my equipment out on my back deck, set the temp of the HLT and watched to make sure it lit properly. After filtering the mash water and lighting the boil kettle burner, I was ready to go measure out and mill the grain.
